Avi Weisfogel is a dentist and an entrepreneur specializing in the treatment of sleep disorders. Weisfogel attended Rutgers University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Psychology. He then joined the College of Dentistry at New York University where he earned his DDS.
Avi established his practice known as Old Bridge Dental Care in New Jersey after school. He started the practice in 1999 and ran it for more than a decade. He received some recognitions and was voted Best Dentist in the area for some years during this time. He noticed that there were many patients with sleep apnea who were referred to dentists for treatment. Avi started Healthy Heart Sleep after a couple of years of research. Healthy Heart Sleep consulted with physicians worldwide on how to set up sleep labs. The organization showed doctors how to manage these labs so that their patients got the best service. Avi began conducting lectures two years later through an organization he started known as Owner Unlimited Sleep Patient. These lectures were delivered to dentists and centered on how they can serve sleep patients better.
Avi started his current venture known as Dental Sleep Masters in 2014. The company works to help dentists treat patients with sleep apnea by using oral appliances. Sleep specialists refer their patients to dentists so that they can be custom-fitted with these appliances to help cure them depending on the sleep disorder. The organization is committed to increasing awareness of the condition since the majority of the people that suffer from sleep apnea do not know that they have it. Weisfogel is offering people with sleep disorders the chance to improve their lives through the company.
Weisfogel is an active philanthropist and has been involved with charitable organizations in the past. He recently set up a Go Fund Me campaign to raise $2000 for Operation Smile. Operation Smile is a non-profit that conducts free surgical procedures on children with cleft lips and cleft palates in regions around the world. Weisfogel talked about his work and how he runs his day in an interview with Ideamensch. He advised entrepreneurs to interact with different people to enhance partnerships in the future.
