In 2002, Hussain Sajwani founded DAMAC Properties, and today, he acts as Chairman of one of the largest global property development companies in the world. Mr. Sajwani attended The University of Washington, where he majored in Economics and Industrial Engineering, after which, he returned home, taking a financial position with Abu Dhabi Gas Industries. After two years with the position, he delved into catering, creating, what is now known as, Global Logistics Services, which serves 150,000 meals each day. Today, Mr. Sajwani is considered to be one of the most influential Arabs in the world, as DAMAC Properties operates in a number of global cities, including Abu Dhabi, Beirut, Dubai, Doha, Jeddah, and London. He recently participated in a Q & A session in which he spoke on a number of topics, particularly his many successes as an entrepreneur, as well as his interests for the future.

The idea for DAMAC properties was conceived based on Mr. Sajwani’s experiences as a youth, in which he spent much of his free time working with his father. It was at this time that the entrepreneurial spirit, as well as the passion for real estate, was instilled in him. Mr. Sajwani typically begins his day with a meeting with his top managerial staff, in which he is briefed on the current happenings with his company, and the rest of his day is divided between networking and spending quality time with his family. It is Hussain Sajwani’s capacity to peer into the future that allows him to bring his greatest ideas to fruition. He often imagines what the state of Dubai will be in the next decade, putting aside any fears that may corrupt his ability to fully deliver on his project.

The growth of social media really has him excited about the prospects for the future, as it is continuously evolving and has taken digital marketing to heights only few could have imagined. The evolving nature of social media and other forms of digital marketing have allowed businesses to communicate with their audience on a constant basis, allowing the capacity for growth to take on a new life.
